Casa Padrino Luxury Velvet Bed Headboard Hills – A Pattern You Look at Twice

Most headboards work with diamonds or buttons. This Casa Padrino luxury bed headboard does something else: across the grey velvet runs a pattern of interlocking arches, reminiscent of roof shingles, of art deco façades, of ripples in sand. You do not quite grasp it at first glance – and therefore look a second time.

The pattern is drawn not by buttons but by contrasting decorative stitching. A fine pale seam traces every arch, lifts it from the ground and lays a second, graphic layer across the surface. The result is calmer than a capitonné and considerably more distinctive than plain upholstery.

A surrounding frame encloses the field of arches and gives it a clear edge. It keeps the pattern from fraying outward and makes the headboard read on the wall like a framed object rather than a piece of furniture.

The grey velvet is chosen deliberately. Grey accepts any wall colour; it stands beside sage as comfortably as beside sand beige or deep midnight blue, and it lets the pattern take the lead. The surface shifts with the incoming light between cool pewter and warm taupe.

A body of solid wood, dimensionally stable polyester foam, cleanly finished edges: that is the unspectacular part which decides whether a headboard still looks good after five years. In hotels this is precisely what counts, because someone different leans against it every day.

Only the headboard is delivered, without a bed. On request this model is produced in other colours, sizes and fabric qualities, including tone-on-tone stitching if the pattern should appear even more restrained.
