The motif
The same mature stag, this time with the head turned to the left: forelegs stretched far forward, antlers reaching wide, the coat chased in fine strokes. Together with TBA-284 it forms a pair that frames a driveway or a lawn on both sides.

Craftsmanship and casting
Body and antlers are made separately and joined after casting, then dressed and chased across the whole surface. The warm brown patina is built up in layers and taken back on the heights. The sculpture is cast in solid bronze using the lost wax process, the technique that has been in use since antiquity. Every piece is chased and patinated individually by hand, and only then does the final colour appear.

Placement and effect
Placed on its own the stag works at the edge of a lawn or under old trees, as a pair with TBA-284 it frames an axis. The base should be level and load-bearing, on a lawn a foundation slab is recommended.

Material and care
Bronze does not age and is practically maintenance free, a dry soft cloth is all it takes. Because every piece is cast and patinated by hand, no two are identical: slight variations in tone and surface are part of the process and are not a defect.
