The motif
A young woman in a yellow dress, orange scarf and wide-brimmed hat leans between two grey lidded boxes, an umbrella in her hand. Dress, hat shape and the dropped belt belong to the twenties, the boxes carry a painted gilt monogram.

Craftsmanship and painting
Figure and both boxes are formed in one piece, the lids are loose and removable. The painting is applied by hand, the monograms and shoes heightened with gold. The piece is made of slip-cast porcelain which gains its hardness and gloss in the firing. Painting and gilding are applied by hand after the firing and fired a second time.

Placement and effect
The piece stands on the laid table, on a breakfast table or in a cabinet of Art Deco porcelain. The two boxes take mustard and salt, and just as well paper clips or jewellery.

Material and care
Porcelain is colourfast and does not age, a soft dry cloth is all it takes. Hand-painted areas and gilding must not go into the dishwasher. Because every piece is painted by hand, no two are identical: slight variations in tone and brushwork are part of the process and are not a defect.
